Counselling Procedure
Follow the YIMES online counselling journey from choice filling and payment to document verification, provisional admission and reporting at the allotted participating institute.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
YIMES candidates can proceed to online counselling as notified
The reference YIMES process provides online counselling for candidates who appeared in the YIMES examination and are proceeding towards admission with scholarship in participating colleges or universities. Eligibility for a specific round remains subject to the active result, notification and seat availability.
ONLINE COUNSELLING
Complete the counselling process in five stages
Use your candidate account for every official choice, upload, payment and download.

Complete counselling payment
After choice filling, complete the applicable counselling payment through the active online payment options shown in your candidate account. Keep the acknowledgement safely.

Upload documents for verification
Upload the requested academic and identity documents in clear, readable form so the counselling and admission verification process can continue.

Download provisional admission letter
After successful completion of the required counselling stages, download the admission letter when it becomes available in your candidate account.

Report for physical verification
Visit the allotted institute on the notified reporting date with the admission letter and original documents required for physical verification and final admission formalities.
CHOICE FILLING
Build your institute and branch preference list carefully
Your priority order matters. Review the available participating institutes and branches before locking or submitting choices in the counselling panel.

Choose institutes and branches in genuine priority order, keeping your most preferred option first.

The reference counselling flow asks candidates to select at least 25 colleges or universities, with at least one branch, where options are available.

Institute and branch options shown in the counselling panel may depend on YIMES marks, availability and the active counselling round.

Candidates who miss an earlier round may be able to participate in a later round subject to seat availability and the published schedule.
REFERENCE COUNSELLING FEE
₹10,000 is shown on the reference YIMES counselling process
The reference website states that the counselling fee is adjusted against the first-year tuition fee of the allotted institute and describes refund treatment if admission is declined. The amount, adjustment and refund actually applicable to your session should be confirmed from the live payment screen and current YIMES refund policy before payment.
DOCUMENT VERIFICATION
Keep counselling and admission documents ready
The reference process lists the following core documents; your live portal may request additional documents.
Class 10 marksheet / certificate
Class 12 / 10+2 marksheet or applicable academic proof
School leaving / transfer certificate where required
Migration certificate where applicable
Recent colour passport-size photographs
Aadhaar card or other accepted identity document

Admission Letter Download the letter only when it becomes available in your account
The reference process says the admission letter contains the allotted institute, branch, reporting date, scholarship and other relevant information. It describes availability after completion of counselling requirements; always follow the current portal timeline for your session.
RE-COUNSELLING
Request a different institute or branch only through the official process
The reference YIMES flow allows a candidate to request re-counselling, choose a desired institute and branch, and then download a new admission letter if approved. Once a new re-counselling request is processed, the previous admission letter may no longer remain valid.
